For MCD, the applicant must have;

Requirements for Award
A. To be eligible for the award of Master of Community Development a candidate shall successfully complete not less than twelve (12) units comprising:
i. all units from Part A of the Schedule of Units;
ii. all units in Part B of the Schedule of Units;
B. A candidate who while enrolled for the Master in Community Development has completed the requirements of the Graduate Diploma in Community Development or the Graduate Certificate in Community Development may elect to be awarded the Graduate Diploma or the Graduate Certificate following withdrawal from candidature for the Master's award. |

You will gain a greater understanding of the principles of working with communities and how these impact on the ethical consequences of disasters. The program will also enhance your skills and ability to help communities cope with major emergencies and disasters. |

This program grew out of a United Nations imperative to provide training for communities so that they could proactively work to reduce the effects of disasters. Students from all around the world, working in both paid and voluntary capacities, are able to network online to add another dimension to the learning and development outcomes of this program.
Early exit points are also available at both the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma levels.

|
The program is aimed at those who work (or wish to work) in emergency services or humanitarian organisations, including aid workers in developing countries, community development workers employed in non-profit organisations and government departments anywhere in the world.
